Chef Fabio Picchi (1954-2022)

During the height of the pandemic 2020, Gruppo Italian was very honored to have the opportunity to participate in a webinar event on the future of Italian restaurants with famed Italian Chef, Fabio Picchi who died recently in Florence. 

Picchi was Chef of the Cibreo one of the most famous restaurants in all of Tuscany. Says GI President Gianfranco Sorrentino, “Chef Picchi was revered as a renovator of regional cuisine“. He creatively combined native Tuscany cultural food fare with the more unconventional. 

Lauded for his welcoming spirit, from the wealthy to the common man,  the Italian culinary community has lost a pioneering, guiding soul.
